SASTA Workshops and Field Days are arranged around topical issues pertaining to the sugarcane industry in South Africa. Presentations, guest speakers and visits to factories, farms and other sites of interest are organised to encourage information sharing and skills development.

More recently, SASTA has been instrumental in the transfer of excerpts from agricultural papers presented during the annual SASTA Congress and with specific application to the Growers, in the form of an annual Roadshow. This will in future be extended to selected factory papers to reach factory personel who are unable to attend Congress.
